The Curriculum / Montessori Method

The Montessori Method is a unique and highly successful way of teaching based on children’s innate curiosity and love of learning. The philosophy recognises the immense capacity children have to absorb information when given the freedom and independence to learn at their own pace.Our classrooms are designed to promote this and to enable each child to access materials which interest them. The materials cover all the different areas of the EYFS whilst simultaneously promoting independence and meeting their individual needs.As well as access to the prepared environment, the children have scheduled activities throughout the day. This not only to provides the sense of security of having a routine, but continues to challenge and stimulate them.

There are project times – where the topics change on a monthly basis – plus music and movement, imaginative play, story time, garden play, yoga and weekly Spanish lessons.
